QuotesZai Bennett, Controller, ITV2 2007 has been a great year for us – we’ve continued to prove that ITV2 is the digital destination for audiences wanting brand new original commissions and the very best in US acquisitions. Building on this success I am very proud of our winter 2008 schedule which is packed with exciting drama, new and original comedy and big entertainment. Brand new shows include, fresh from the States, the highly anticipated Bionic Woman and Gossip Girl. Comedy and Entertainment highlights include; Keith Lemon’s Gap Year (wt); Laura, Ben and Him; Coleen’s Real Women and The Passions of Girls Aloud. These are just a few of the highlights for the new season on ITV2. I hope that you join us and indulge in some of the very best of original and acquired programming on the number one digital channel in the UK. Boilerplate StatementsAbout ITV2 Throughout 2007 the channel has continued to prove that it is the only digital channel able to blend creativity with commercial results. So far in 2007 nearly 90% of the UK population have watched ITV2 – that’s over 41.5 million people and nearly 11 million of those were part of the valuable 16-34s audience. ITV2’s top rating programme of the year so far has been Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, starring Billie Piper. The channel’s first ever original drama commission peaked with over 2 million viewers in September and was the most successful launch of an original commission across any digital station so far this year. ITV2 has not only enjoyed commercial success but has received critical acclaim picking up its first BAFTA and RTS awards for Entourage; both the Entertainment Channel of the Year and Channel of the Year at the Broadcast Digital Awards and the Non-terrestrial Channel of the Year at the Media Guardian Edinburgh Festival. |
